Wed & Wonder

An Educational
experience for brides

An intimate educational experience for brides planning their wedding

I had so much fun putting together designs for a new event called Wed & Wonder that will be premiering March 29, 2019 at Titletown Brewing in Green Bay, WI. Partially because it meant working with three of my dear friends. These ladies, who have spent years working with brides, saw a need to provide a place for newly engaged brides to connect with trusted wedding professionals and where they could have all their questions answered as they begin to plan their special day. Shaunae (Shaunae Teske Photography), Brooke (Pure Barre Green Bay) and Victoria (Belleza Hair & Makeup) planned this event to help educate brides, allowing them to elevate the wedding planning experience.

The mission of Wed & Wonder:

We believe in educating newly engaged couples so they can make informed decisions while planning their wedding. Our goal is to elevate the wedding planning experience by offering an intimate gathering for learning and connecting.

This event is bringing in a variety wedding vendors including a DJ, florist, videographer and even a chef! So, you know every aspect will be covered. Vendors will all have the opportunity to briefly share with those in attendance about their industry and answer questions. After the panel discussions and Q&A brides and friends will have the opportunity to connect with the vendors if they choose.

About the Designs

For this project I had the opportunity to create a logo, website and social media graphics. The requested direction was simple and elegant and the ideal colors of blush pink and gold. We also wanted to keep away from the cliche wedding images.

Logo Design
As I was creating the logo I knew I wanted to have a bit more fun with the ampersand (&), to combine simple while still having the playfulness of wonder and possibility. I ended up choosing to pair it with a clean, single width font with very open letters. The custom created ampersand reaches out on both ends in wonder while the remaining text elevates it, while also being connected by the ampersand itself.

Website Design
In the website we really were able to let the blush pink color shine, and it paired perfectly with the photos taken by Shaunae. The gold served as an accent color in the buttons and certain title text. We also used a script font as an accent in some titles to reflect the playfulness of the ampersand in the logo. The purpose of the website is to provide information about the event including date, time, location and the purpose of the event itself and the vendors who will help achieve that purpose. The call to action being to purchase tickets to the event. The ticket link remains on the top of each page and several times throughout the homepage.

Social Media Images
I also created a cover for Wed & Wonder’s Facebook event as well as several graphics to share the event. An additional image was created for the vendors who will be attending, as each has the opportunity to give away two tickets to the event. These graphics pull similar design concepts to the website, especially in the way the text sits in a box and overlaps an image.
